Rachel Carson could see the incredible damage being done by the massive use of chemical insecticides and pesticides.

Personally I will eat nothing but organic food from now on. The sad thing is that many of these chemicals are still in use some 40 years after Rachel wrote this book. The story is beautifully written, and well laid out.
