Should and Could be better - but nothing beats the price!
I purchased the 2.1 MegaPixel DSC-P51 last year and was extremely happy with the quality of the pictures - the only trouble I had was trying to blow the pictures up. Faces became distorted and grainy, well what do you expect from 2.1 MegaPixel. Anyway fast-forward to this year and I purchased the DSC-P10, surely this would compare with the previous camera - however there have been some flaws to my new purchase and I thought you should know about it - no.1 The Battery is rechargable which is fine on small trips away from a power outlet, but horrible when you need to be out and about all day (battery time about 100 mins)Oh! and another battery will set you back over £50!!! no.2 Despite the fact it's a point and click camera - a lot of pictures will require you to be absolutely still as slight movement causes the pictures to become fuzzy or blurred - a common problem, but it's ten times worse than my previous Sony and quite a nuisance. No.3 Be prepared to spend money on lots of extras - a new Memory Stick Pro as anything under 256 MB holds hardly anything; a Carry Case- those of you familiar with Sony Cameras will know they cost extra (cheapest £19.99 but ill-fitting).
Despite these flaws - the price is a knockout £299.00, silly cheap for a 5 million megapixel camera and the facilites are as good if not better than most of the others.
The choice is yours.

The Best !
A great tiny little thing. I'm using a DSC-P12 (Dark blue aluminium body), same model as DSC-P10 (Silver) except that it gets delivered with 2 batteries and a soft case. (This definitely is worth the additional couple of bucks!)

Of course, you will need to spend a few days to play around to get the best quality fulfilled you, who doesn't ? It's easy to use and understand those functions.

LCD screen is clear to show your pictures, though it's a bit slow to show the image you took. But It's not a big deal for just 1 sec delay ! Well, that delay occurred only if you are not using the newest version of Memory Stick - Pro. Besides, I am looking forward to get a 1GB memory stick.

Unlimited video recording (but limited by the size of memory stick) is the best part which allowed me to take a MPEG video for the BBQ party I just had. This is so much fun !

Never feel regret for getting that !

p.s. I am definitely not SONY FANS, but have to admit that they are very well making this camera.

Great Sony Digital Camera
Being late into the digital camera market, after much investigation decided the P10 was the camera I was looking for.

I wanted portability and features, the P10 has surpassed my expectations with many advanced features that I used to pay a lot of money for on SLR or APS cameras. The flexibility to use it in program mode ( with default settings changed ) and to allow less advanced users to stick with default settings is very useful, with just a flick of a switch. The bracketing and multi sequence options are great.

It has a PAL cable, which the write ups did not mention which connects it to the TV, which I wanted, and the Image download software is automatic when you plug the camera in.

It weighs almost nothing and is very portable, looks cool and overall a purchase I am very happy with.

On the down side the flash and or Focus seems slow to synchronize up and actually take a picture, but as I have only had the camera a day, I might be able to work that out.
